Common questions

How do I share my system backup securely? +
You can upload files directly through the submission form above. All uploads are handled confidentially. If your backup is very large, I can arrange a secure file transfer link (e.g. via SFTP or SharePoint) after your initial enquiry.
What is included in the FAT document? +
The FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) document covers every requirement in the URS — with test case number, description, test method, expected result, actual result, and pass/fail status. It provides full traceability and can be used for site acceptance or audit purposes.
Can you work with legacy systems? +
Yes. I have experience with older Siemens Step 7 (S7-300/400), older Rockwell RSLogix platforms, and legacy SCADA systems. Please describe your platform in the submission form and I'll confirm compatibility.
How long does a typical modification project take? +
This depends entirely on the scope. Minor modifications with a clear URS can be turned around in 2–5 business days. Larger projects are quoted with a realistic timeline upfront. I'll always provide a schedule before work begins.
Do you provide on-site support outside Scotland? +
Yes — I'm available for on-site work across the UK. Travel and accommodation for sites outside central Scotland would be factored into the project quote.
Can I engage you at the design stage for a new system? +
Absolutely. Early involvement is often the most cost-effective approach. I can advise on hardware selection, software platform choice, network architecture, functional design specifications, and I/O design — helping you avoid expensive changes later.
